The Daily Orienteering Newspaper at the WM

The "OL" Journal will be published daily during the OL WM 2003 in the form of the "Daily O News" which are delivered free of charge to the spectators of the WM.

In totally seven editions the "Daily O News" will unravel the events of the previous day and briefly line up what will be up during the day of publication. The profound views will follow in the September edition of the Swiss OL Journal. The target audiences of the "Daily O News" are the visitors of the OL WM 2003. A distribution to the subscribers of the OL Journal by mail is not intended, as a large number of them will attend the WM on site anyway.

Well-known team
Journalists and photographers who in recent times have been active for the OL Journal over and over again will develop these publications. To the team belong (in alphabetical order) Roland Hürlimann, Matthias Merkli, Annetta Schaad, Rémy Steinegger, Flurin Wipf (Daily O News) and Simon Steiner as the orienteering media producer. Local journalist Alexander Schär will deal with special events all around the WM venue of Rapperswil/Jona. The editorship will lie in the hands of Roland Eggspühler who has been the editor of the OL Journal for three years. At the layout desk Cornelia Hänggi and the editor will take a seat. The newspaper will be produced by the architecture and media office a2plus in Lucerne.

Print at Fotorotar
As printing partner Fotorotar could be won. This company from Egg (canton of Zurich) already has some experience with event-related daily newspapers. At the Gigathlon (2002) and at the Tour de Suisse (2003) the newspapers have even been delivered to the respective stages by helicopter. This service, however, the OL WM 2003 will refrain from because of ecological reasons.
