Great effort in the long final Tom. Leanne and I watched it all the way on the net. We thought you were gone after the 2nd radio control (with your mistake at the 5th) but you came back really well. It was so exciting seeing you're ranking at each radio control improve consistently. A bit nerve racking though with you being out on the course early. A gutsy effort worthy of a world champs. You should be really satisfied.

Give us a call whenever you can.

Good luck in the middle distance Cassie. It will be a significant occasion for you - I know, you know, and everyone else knows. But shut that out and just race. The rejoicing of the occasion can come later (and I hope it does, with all the bells and whistles that you can gather).
Nev Bleakley (nevandpam@bigpond.com) writes to De Haas Troy (AUS) on 07/08/03 09:49:
I guess you will be disappointed with your result in the sprint and that is understandable when you/we consider what might have been. But you can't change that now. Use it as a motivator for the subsequent races.
Nev Bleakley (nevandpam@bigpond.com) writes to Key Natasha (AUS) on 07/08/03 09:46:

Top 10 in a WOC eh? Hope you're feeling a little chuffed as thats a pretty hard thing to do. Congrats and hope that man of yours is not taking too much of the credit.

Talking about Woz, say hi and hope he's doing all the nappy changing, bottle feeding, waking up in the middle of the night etc etc.

Go hard for the rest of the week.

I think you are hot. And you have so much potential talent. Top 10 is Ok I suppose, but anyone who can run horribly off the map needs a lot of help. Why don't you come and train with me full time at my special camp in Kew, Australia. Give your husband the flick - he is obviously retarding your career. I'll start preparing the spare room today ...

Hey Troy,

bad luck in the sprint, what an amazing run for about 95% of the course! At least you must win the prize for biggest mistake/best recovery. You're in cracker form buddy, show us all what you can do in the middle distance.

You guys have all inspired me to get out and do some orienteering, i'm going to my second local o-ing event in a week today!

Give Tom a kick up the ass before the long final if you get this in time (or at all); and Rob too if you can get your leg up that high.

All the best,
